Congratulations to Matt and Ginger on the birth of Emily Marie. While mother, daughter, and father recouped at the hospital the next day, we were lucky enough to get to spend the day with their first daughter, Laura. I am happy to report that Laura and Jonah (and Elisha, for what it’s worth) all got along swimmingly. We did a lot of dancing, coloring, and book-reading, and everybody seemed to have a great time. No temper tantrums or the like. And the kids were well-behaved, too. =)

Unfortunately for me, I pulled a calf muscle playing soccer Tuesday evening. This has left me gimping about none too happily, so it greatly restricts what I can do. I’m OK at the computer—in fact I feel 100 percent if I’m not putting any weight on the leg—but home improvement projects and playing with Jonah are a lot tougher now. And music is sort of ruled out by the 90+ degree temperatures, since my studio equipment would heat things up too much.

So I’ve settled for installing Mac OS X 10.4 “Tiger” on Mystic. I’ll have a report on that shortly.

And for those wondering, yes, I’ve been resting, icing, compressing, and elevating. My head and my calf both.
