We’re all doing the cold thing here at Davison HQ, so we pushed off Thanksgiving until last night, then just said “What the heck” and cooked up the bird. (The turkey, a magnificent 20 pounder, was both free-range and hormone-free and one the best-tasting I’ve had in a long time.)
My dad and brother Bret both joined us, and after the kids finished climbing all over Uncle Bret, we settled down to dessert and celebrated Bret’s birthday. My mom’s had a few health issues recently and as prolonged exposure to us sickies seemed like a bad idea, she had to forgo this year’s festivities. We’re hopeful that we can all be well enough for a full family get-together for Christmas.
