I support the desire of people to be called what they want, which is why names exist. As long as your chosen name is inoffensive, I may think you weird, but I’m going to use it.
I am not at all on board with an individual’s interpretation of personal pronouns. I am open to the argument that a hermaphrodite might want and deserve to use something other than he or she. If a pronoun like ze referred to a specific gender type—if it added clarity to langauage—I could get onboard.
Beyond that, I haven’t the time or interest to participate is someone’s fanciful destruction of the English language. Wiping out the utility of pronouns makes it harder to communicate and god knows we have enough trouble with that already.
