We’re all still moderately under the weather here in the Davison household. Erin had an awful night, waking every couple of hours. She’s already decided to take tomorrow off. Excluding Jonah’s birth, the last time Erin took three days off from work was approximately never. And she’s feeling better at this point than I am, something that hardly seems fair since I’m the one popping the pills. Other than sleeping a little more than usual, Jonah’s been fine. What a great kid.
My email In Box held 180 MovableType comment spams this afternoon, so obviously my upgrade to version 3.121 was insufficient protection. It’s easier to delete the spams, which is good, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to go to the next level to prevent this from happening again.
I sincerely apologize, but soon all commentators will need to register prior to making their first comment and log in thereafter. I hope this doesn’t reduce the amount of feedback to zero because I often find comments helpful, humorous or insightful. I’d hate for a registration requirement to stop real people who want to say something from saying it.
But I also hope you’ll understand that I can’t keep coming back to the weblog, sit down, and find I’ve got 30 to 60 minutes worth of work to do just to clean up the mess that some #@$#! spammed me with. I appreciate your understanding, and I hope you’ll take this opportunity to register and comment on this very posting.
[In case anyone’s wondering, the 180 spams were all from different—and spoofed—IP addresses. That’s why I couldn’t just block one IP address and solve all my problems.]
