I just finished William Goldman’s The Princess Bride, his 1973 novel upon which the fantastic 1987 Rob Reiner movie was based. Goldman’s getting props here for his work on the screenplay, because the movie is absolutely terrific.
The book isn’t bad, but I will say that this is the first time in my recollection that I preferred the movie to the book. Make of that what you will. (And rent the movie if you’ve not yet seen it.)
